Become a Host on the 2026 Edible Garden Trail
Do you have an edible garden that you’re passionate about? Whether you’re growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, or sustainable plants, we invite you to share your green space with others as a host on the 2026 Edible Garden Trail! This is a unique opportunity to showcase your gardening skills, inspire others to create their own edible gardens, and help spread the message of sustainability and local food production.

Why become a host?
Inspire Others: Sharing your garden with the community allows you to inspire fellow gardeners, sustainability enthusiasts, and curious visitors. Your garden could be the catalyst for someone else’s green thumb!
Promote Sustainability: By opening your garden to the public, you are promoting sustainable practices, organic gardening, and a connection to nature. Your efforts could help people understand the importance of growing food at home and supporting local food systems.
Gain Recognition: Being part of the Edible Garden Trail gives your garden recognition as a valuable part of our local ecosystem. It’s a chance for you to be a part of something bigger, connecting with fellow gardeners and the community in a meaningful way.
Meet Like-Minded People: As a host, you’ll have the opportunity to meet people who share your passion for gardening and sustainability. It’s a great way to exchange tips, ideas, and inspiration.
Enjoy Community Exposure: With marketing and promotion as part of the trail, your garden will receive exposure through event listings, maps, and social media posts, bringing new visitors to your space and increasing community engagement with your garden.

How to get involved
Submit Your Garden: If you’re interested in hosting on the 2026 Edible Garden Trail, fill out our online form. Tell us about your garden, the types of plants you grow, and what makes your space unique.
Meet Our Team: After reviewing your submission, we’ll get in touch to discuss how your garden fits within the trail and to arrange a visit. We’ll work with you to determine the best way to showcase your space and ensure a smooth experience for visitors.
Host Trail Day: About eight weeks before the event, we’ll organise a Host Trail Day where all participating hosts can meet each other and visit one another’s gardens. This is a fantastic opportunity to network, share gardening tips, and gather inspiration to make your garden truly shine. You’ll have time to brainstorm ideas with fellow hosts and get feedback on how to make your garden “pop” for the upcoming trail event.
Prepare for Visitors: Once you’re confirmed as a host, we’ll provide you with tips on preparing your garden for visitors. We’ll help with everything from setting up clear signage to preparing your garden for a safe and enjoyable tour experience.
Welcome the Community: On the trail dates, your garden will be open to the public! You’ll have the opportunity to greet visitors, share your gardening knowledge, and create a welcoming space for those looking to learn and get inspired.
Debriefing with Fellow Hosts: After the trail event, we’ll come together for a relaxed morning tea at a local venue. This is a chance to reflect on your experience, share your highlights, and discuss how things went. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other hosts, exchange feedback, and celebrate your hard work in making the 2026 Edible Garden Trail a success!
